I've never had nor seen a large jar in person so I was wondering, do all adult jars have the pattern and coloring of the ones above? I've only seen jar guppies and they are far from colorful which is one of the main reason why I decided to go with a Silver, but the more I look at these Jars the more I like them. :)

most adult jars do keep there color ,but it usually fades a bit, cause we have a 2ft specimen at work and his colors have fades to a pinkier look, and is now looking like a very poor specimen, but if you keeep the food up and water quality and color enhancing pellets and lights they should still keep there juvinile colors.

and most jars have different patterning, they all have the same scale color, but its the face/gill color you want to watch out for, as you could get a jar that has alot of coloring on the cheeks and one without. it all depends on quality.

beautiful jars and leis people.
i always thought jars wouldnt have great color because even the large ones at the lfs look really dull.
so i went with a silver.

cammo xz jar has retained great colourespecially on the cheeks. i think silvers loose there colour lol!

Have grown much bigger and gain more mass this week. Diet is mainly superworms and sometimes pellets and pork or chicken.

The markings on face is showing more.
