Mine don't do that at all, usually they are hiding in plants from each other and my other fish.

finally got a pic of a poly/pleco pile. Ornate, polli, 3x ropes, and an L137

Not really a poly pile but is a P. pile with my Papyrocranus afer, my unidentified Pterygoplichthys, and my polypterus delhezi. All 3 were trying to fit into the black tube at once and when they couldn't they backed up and kind of thought about it for a min and tried again

Your ornate is getting big! Love how the ropes look a greenish gold. Great pic of the pile
