Just curious... at what point do you feel that overstocked becomes cruel?

(this is not an insult to any of your photos, just curious what defines peoples limits)

Just my opinion but there are a couple of points where I would consider it cruel.

1.) If water quality cannot be maintained then the fish suffer and I'd call that cruel. Most of the tanks on this thread it's pretty obvious the owners have the right equipment and are dedicated to keeping their fish healthy.

2.) If the minimum amount of space for a fish isn't met. This is subjective but obviously an adult oscar in a 20 gallon is cruel since it only has 2 sq ft of swimming space. On the other hand some would say dozen oscars in a 180 is cruel but imo as long as the water quality is kept up it isn't cruel since each individual oscar still has access to the full 12 sq. ft. of swimming space.

I just in the process of switching my reef tanks (a 215 & a 220) over to fw. Hopefully I'll have some pics of my own overstocked tanks before to long.

Right now, you're not overstocked. In a year or two when those dats and the pbass grow then you'll be overstocked.

As if crystal clear water is an indication of responsible fishkeeping.
