I don't have any pics of it running but I have plants in the center sectionwith the heaters. then it flows into a large sponge pad. 2 1" overflow lines 1 1" return to an external pump.

I was thinking of getting a 4' or 5' tank for a sump and setting up similar to your's, with the bio media at one end and plants through the center. Do the plants help much with the water quality? also do you have any problems with the plants getting stuck in your pump?

dannyboy, their is bio balls, Matrix and some strews, a bloke at an Aquarium had them for his bio media and he rated them highly so i throw a few in but i was not game enough to only use them
