I love the indoor stingray pond that Miles came up with http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23499 and wanted to do some smaller ones on the cheap as breeding boxes. I have some spare 3/4 ply I will be build like 2x4x20 and then line then with a plastic shower curtain. Any idea how these would hold up?

Its not worth the risk. I bet if you did get it to hold water that it would not last a month. Its to thin and will mildew quickly. Not to mention it might contain chemicals that will leech into the water.
4-6 months out of the sun, then they start to get to get brittle. Most do have a mildewcide in them.
Better to buy a roll of visqueen.
