Shower door into plywood tank

Cutting tempered glass, not easy or safe.

Why don't you make a paludarium? You could make it 3' tall then, but just have the water lever at 1'/1.5' and have the upper section planted ... archers?

Should be interesting ;)

...I've got a couple of doors and some extra glass laying around ...
Joe, We are just way too alike! A tinkerer's garage is never for parking cars (considering we don't have basements). I just gave away four glass doors, three more to go, and I have three large pieces of plate sitting at my doorway (for a future tank). That and I have no earthly idea how many smaller pieces of glass and acrylic I have. My garage is so bad that when I was working on my current tank stand, I couldn't get to my table saw (actually I didn't want to dig it out). I settled on hand tools. The condition of the garage isn't helped by my brother putting a new engine in his car or the '68 firebird conv. project car that doubles for a shelf.

It can be very entertaining though. We were trying to get rid of some of the stuff a long time ago and my brother decided to bust it all up and give it to the garbage men in really tiny pieces. He took a hammer to the first piece while still in the door frame. The hammer bounced back at him so he decided he just needed to take a harder swing. No go. He took off the frame and that still didn't help. He started to use his head and grabbed a pair of water pump pliers. he grabbed a corner of the glass with them, snapped off a little piece and the whole sheet of glass exploded.

You should have filmed it...

Sorry I missed your post.
Your right tho... I've been in this house for 28 years and never had a car (running) in the 2 car garage. I do have a '69 VW squareback in one side and a couple of engines in there somewhere - plus tools and stuff and parts and things and... No I cannot walk thru it. But if I want to make something I usually have 90% of the stuff.
I even found a couple of old aquariums in the attic that I forgot about
Plus, oh..never mind you wouldn't believe it anyway - I don't :grinyes:

You should have bolted the doors together and sealed them and made an 7' sqaure tank.

I sure am jealious of these people with basements, But I'm a little conserned about what I might do with/in one... At least the pyrotechnics are usually outside now. :grinyes: Usually...

Has there been a thread for most unusual/wierdest aquarium on here? :screwy:

I think you build a nice plywood tank and use the glass shower door and frame as a hinged lid!
