showpiece in 60

Red Tiger Mota would work.Get bout the same size as a JD but much more aggressive!

I'd go with the Friedrichstahlii. But I may be biased for the name!

u could do a RD easily just keep the tank clean and good filtration, it'd be fine.

Grammodes - predatory looks, big heads, interesting colors

Cuban - very striking when larger, sort of like a small managuense

Hemichromis elongatus or frempongi - gets to around 7 inches, cool shape, piscovores with fairly large mouths

Mayan - get larger than the others, but underated. when you see them in fish stores they look drab. feed them hikari bio gold and lots of krill, and they color up nicely

Salvinis are cool fish, love them. But for a single fish aquarium, I think they may hide too much. Despite their nasty tempermants, they are kind of shy.

just flippin through my memory cards, I found I have good before and after pictures of a beat up Mayan in his own aquarium.

Before lots of krill and Hikari Bio Gold:

After a couple months of krill and HBG:

And that's a beaten down Uro. Get color like that and you have a good showpiece predator, they almost never have these colors at the LFS. You have to feed them these colors.

get an oscar for sure...... they are amazing fish and will never seize to amaze you by their antics and behaviours
