I will never buy shrimp pellets again. I was looking for a lower-cost substitute for Hikari sinking carnivore pellets and I thought I'd try the shrimp pellets. Wow. Never. Again.

Whenever the bichir bites into them, as soon as he starts chewing on them, they just spread all over the place and make a horrible mess of everything.

BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah thats the problem i have with shrimp pellets. some of my bichirs do enjoy them, but i haven't fed this in a long time because of the mess....sticking with hikari pellets for now.

If your fish like them try feeding them just before a waterchange. That way youre going to be cleaning the tank anyway so what the heck.

haha my friend GAVE me his shrimp pellets, but i never used um again cuz my bichers refused to eat them. especially when carnivore pellets were offered. You could get carnivore pellets for a decent price, unless u buy um from petco/petsmart or a LFS. Buy um online at bigalsonline.com its even better when shipping is free (which happens once ni a while)

i usually feed raw shrimp meat.
never tried the pellets one.
thx for sharing your knowledge.

I have been useing Omega One shrimp pellets or years and don't have a
problem with them. They are a staple part of my catfish's diets.

I tried Aquarian shrimp pellets once.Spent the next two days vacuuming and changing water trying to get rid of the mess-Anne

i use the omega one shrimp pellets. no problems. my bichir wont hardly eat the carnivor pellets

IMO, Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets are the best, but they are nutrageously expensive. I've had good luck with OSI Sinking Shrimp Pellets, which my bichirs seem to enjoy without making a big mess. Well, I've been feeding them the OSI pellets for about six months and I haven't received any complaints from them. :)

my bichirs wont eat carnivore pellets or shrimp pellets, they spit them out, so I feed mostly fresh stuff, sometimes I do try to trick them by putting pellets right in the middle of the fresh food, but they usually hate them
