shrimp

i got 2 bamboo shrimp the other day. put one in a 20g with a firemouth and some tiger barbs. he went into a cave and i havent seen him since.

the other one i put in a 10g with my betta and some neons. i have seen him hanging on to some plants and around the sponge filter.

my question is: i have found 2 dead neons and the had big chunks eaten out of them. do shrimp eat dead fish? i dont think it killed them, but did it eat them? i know the other fish definately did not eat them.

IMO everything in your tank will eat everything in your tank.

It's possible the shrimp scavanged on the dead neons but it lacks the hardware to catch them, the neons probably died naturally and since most/all fish are cannabalistic to some degree the others decided to have a snack.
