Shrimps/prawns with Shells???

Hey Guys.. Hi.. hope all is well with you ppl.. okie I got 4 Silver Aros.. The largest is around 20 inch and the rest are a between 12 inch to a lil bigger.. The smaller aros dont seem to have a problem eating shrimps(market or fresh) without the shells.. now my largest aro.. does not take shrimps.. prawns rather.. ok now to my question.. there has been this debate that the prawns exoskeleton could injure the aros stomach..

A) what do you guys, who feed with the shell do? just chuck it in.. and nothing happens to the aro?

B) I was thinking.. what if i boiled the prawn with the shell on.. would it make it softer, the shell, and prevent any injuries?

ha ha ha ha ha.. true and absolutely agree with ya.. but i'm sure you've read posts with "my aro died eating a shrimp that was not de-shelled".. jus a fish keepers worry after all that..

The shrimp I get usually comes with head already off. Other than that, everything else is intact, including the tail spike and I just throw all of it in after i thaw.

thanks people.. chucked it after removing the head and the tail but with shell intact for the body.. still doesnt seem interested in it will try again later..

hey crispy.. so u mean jus chop off the rostrum/ carpace bit and the telson bit.. leave the shell between with the flesh and the legs? is that right mate?

yes, my shrimp already come without heads
