i have one del left. my bigger one was sucked up a filter tube (one of my inhabitants knocked the strainer off; i've fixed it since :cry:)

this smaller one doesn't sleep to grow very fast. i knew he would grow slower than the senegals but this seems almost ridiculous. i've had him for 2 months and he's grown no more than an inch. i currently have him in a 10 gallon by himself and am super power feeding him.

anybody ever have the same experience with dels?

btw, he's about 3 inches long now.

2 months? Wow, that's a while for only an inch.
What exactly are you feeding him?
It could be that he needs a bigger tank, even at that size, but I doubt it.

Same with me. My del grew from around 3" to 9" in around 4 months.
 
my del seems to be growing like crazy, in the last week he seems to have grown. try feeding him some sinking shrimp pellets, those seem to have fattened up mine
 
yeah my new dels were only three inches when I got them and they have put on three inches in less than a month. must be an individual thing.
 
im feeding omega one sinking shrimp pellets, he eats hikari aro pellets from surface, bloodworms, and cichlid gold.

i think he's being outcompeted. i have him in the 10 right now and he'll be feasting to his little heart's content. i wish his "brother" was still around. anybody have a spare del to sell me?
