I have had a female Festae for about a year now, and I can't for the life of me figure out why she hides whenever she sees me. She is about 6in so there is no possibility of adding any dithers. She is also in a 80 gallon tank. Anyone have any suggestions? I have some juvi Aequidens Rivulutus in the tank next to her and they act similarly.

Why no dithers? If you had a spare tank like a 29 gallon you could grow them in there til they are large enough to go with your Festae.

:ROFL::ROFL: J/K Bro!!!

Some fish are just shy. Maybe she'll come around eventually.

my girl (5.5"-6") is a big wuss she will hide when I first come up to the tank but comes out pretty quick. I have her in 44 with some severums and some other misc stuff and shes the boss. If I put her back in my 150 she turns into a big pansy and have to take her out before she gets killed

She hides cause your water finally cleared up and now she can see you and shes scared.

LOL!!!!!

I use to have a festae like yours. I took out all the hiding places in the tank. Until she got use to seeing me infront of the tank. It took some time but the fish came around and was more comfortable with my presence.
