how do you stop a jardini from beening so skittish. im trying to start it on pellet, but it as seem to be at the bottom of the tank, hindding behind the plants. i seen tame jardini that eat right out your hands, does the skittish goes away as they get big? oh, my jardini is 5". anything will help.

you gotta wait it out and try something meaty(market shrimp, meal worms, chicken heart, beef heart,.... etc) for starters as he may not accept pellets right away
for him to stop being skittish it may need some time and in what size tank have you kept him
mine was very skittish when it was 4"
but when he got 9"+ he got a little more bold and now he is 12" and still does not eat from my hand, but doesn't run to the corner of the tank when i come closer right now he is in a 180g he was in a 35g till he was 5"+

leave the plant there
that shouldn't be a problem
he will eventually come over it
but its a long wait
mine took nearly a month before he stopped being skittish
and he still is not an interactive one but he is not shy as before and comes near the surface when i feed him
all you gotta do is wait and let him settle down

When they get big enough, they can't hide. Mine has grown from 2 inches to over 1 foot in a 55 gallon. I wish I had another tank for him. :(

thanks guy,
we don't need thanks(most welcome though), all we need is updates and pics:D

IMO: i dont think that you can do anything to make him less "skittish" ...considering he is already in a pretty good setting (right size tank, tankmates, water conditions, etc.)..i think it depends on the fish when "he" excepts you as a food source and doesnt act shy towards you anymore....give it time he'll come around..my Jar was the same way at 3-6".. around the 7-8" mark he broke out of his shell and became a monster during feeding time!
