Um dont think the black markings are mood dependent at all. They come and go when they are young and their colors are changing. Looks good..hes a little guy.

Yeah, it should perk up after a few weeks but there are always exceptions.

I had a RD that was always skittish and hiding, that didn't stop it from killing everyone in the tank though.
