I have wellwater here and I add aquarium salt to my loach tank to try and keep it softer I have had no problems keeping the loaches at all.

Aquarium salt doesn't make the water soft. How did you get to this statement? Loaches don't require salt nor will you see their habitats with salt at all. If I were you, do plenty of water changes and stop adding aquarium salt. Aquarium salt is a complete waste of time and money. If you study the osmotic shock and osmoregulation, you will know why long-term salt becomes harmful more than you can imagine.

That's definitely an AT. Like I said, mine is completely at home in fresh, it was even in a fresh tank at the LFS. It's active, a complete pig and fat as anything.

Nevertheless, they are correct as Ming mentioned re the two species which were documented to live in brackish water.

I said a lot of LFS think ALL dat species are brackish, which is incorrect.

AT's do fine in FW. All the AT's I have ever had were kept in fresh.
