Siamese tiger fish

the 1/2" indos I got when the market first got flooded range from 3"-7". Some grow slower than others and the alpha one is around 7" now. I feed them only massivores and do wc's once a week.
I've kept all datnoids except an ST, and IMO the NGT is the slowest grower while perhaps the AT grew the quickest followed closely by the NTT and Indo's.
I havent grown out any monsters yet, but I do notice that once they reach around 7-9" they start growing more fatter and slow down a bit growing longer.

Generally 1 inch per year is about right once they get to 11 Inc plus. Before that size tigers can grow quicker up to about 8 inch then they slow down.
I have from 2 inchers to 8 ich in about 1.5 years.

There are of course exeptions, occasionally one will grow superfast and some will grow super slow.

The NTT and NGT really slow down growth at 8 inch compared to indos, because ntt am NGT peak at about 13-14 inch . Not often seen at that size.

One of my Indo is one of those exceptional fast growers. .5" to 7" in about a year. this guy eats everything. SW, MP, NLS theraA, even H2O Stable wafers (for my plecos).
He started out growing others when he switched from Hikari Aro sticks to the TheraA, while the others that stayed on Aro sticks are only 4". i'm not sure if it is the food itself or less competion with tankmates and the overflow.

I would be more worried about the Oscar and the jar than the froth rate of any tiger fish but I'm sure you have done lots of research on mixing other fish with jars

Back to the tigers they grow fast up to 7-8 inch then slow right down

Your oscar(s) may harass your datnoid. It has happen to me before.

It may happen when they are the same size but when the Dat out grows the Oscar it will be fine.

yes, WHEN the dat outgrows the oscar.. now we are talking years.. and you won't find a baby ST.. maybe rethink your stock..

I think all dats grow pretty fast until they reach 6-7" then they start growing slow. My IT at 9-10" right now, last year he was at 7". Waterchange everyweek 35% and feed twice a day. :)
