Hey guys, I purchased a pair of tropical-acclimated Siberian Sturgeon today as some grow out projects. They're about 5" currently in a 150g to themselves and will eventually go into my 550g before getting their own pond. My question is what growth have you observed from SS kept in tropical temperatures (81 Degrees)? Most of what I read is based off of cold water temperatures. Also, is there anything I should be aware of in terms of triggers that could potentially kill them? Other than the general triggers that harm most fish like sudden temperature swings, nitrates, etc. Thanks!

I kept mine in 60 degree water. Cold. They grew FAST!! Probably faster in higher temps. I would have a lot of oxygen in the water, especially at the higher temps. Watch out for temperature swings, they are as sensitive as trout when it comes to that in my opinion. I bought 6 at 6" a year and a half ago. Now they're almost at 3 feet long and in an outdoor pond. I've never seen anything like it. Good luck!
