My silver Aro has been acting weird lately. his tail area seems to be rather lifeless.its more like hanging down but its not prominent. and he goes to the bottom n chill smtimes n then starts swim again! sm times he tries to jump out,but not in a very aggressive manner.Other than that,he seems to be fine.No extream agitations. However,i consulted my LFS,and i was toldit should be sm bacteria infection, and i got some medication for the fish. I followed up the instructions and also removed the sandy bottom of my tank,as a precaution(so no worms or other harmful things would hv no chance to hide).Removed 50% of water, and i added salt as well. Everything i mentioned took place yesterday.I hoped to see some improvement of the fish, but i see nothing. what do you think i should do? thanks in advance!

how often you doing 50% water change? I would do at least 25% a day while problem persists. Any pics? I'm no expert but it sounds like fin rot.

I change water once a week. Fins look fine, not deterioration or damage. Ill get the pics asap!

If you could notice, check the 3rd pic, there is smthing pink thing near his barbels, its not a wound per say, smthing muscle-y!

i wouldn't worry about the food but it probably tells you he is not happy. Did you move him to a sick tank or something?

Any sign of bloated belly and heavy breathing? If no phyiscal sickness appearance, sound should be quite ok. Aro can be moody and restless when the water PH is low and appetite will be affected as well. Time to WC and add in some buffering agent as Coral Chip or oyster shell to buffer up the PH.

I HATE to but I gotta ask what size tank is arow in??? The tank looks REAL small and could cause all kinds of issues??
