Had a nitrite spike ~ got up to 10ppm. I fixed the water and it's back to zero, but the fish still look like hell. Is this from the nitrite or is it something totally different? The P. Polli is the worst infected by whatever this is, which sucks because he's one of my favorites. The spots are getting bigger on the fish, too. Pics to follow.

Fish are still eating and active. Polli is starting to hang out at the top of the water instead of down with the del where he usually is. Argh. These pix are takin forever to upload :(

damn, that sucks. where is ANNE?? i dont know what that is :( you already did the standard stuff (getting the water clean and fix the parameters).

jeez, i hope they all pull through okay. best of luck.

The water was green (check the thread in the general aquaria forum I had recently) and since I put a new stronger light in there I thought it was an algae bloom. It didnt clear up like it should and when I tested the water again it was 10ppm for nitrite - possibly for three days straight. I feel horrible.

Had a very similar episode with mySenagal about 3 weeks ago. I did a large water change, cleaned the canister filters, didn't feed for 2-3 days and added a broad-range bactericide (used the standard treatment and this was one one I got here in England). Senagal picked up very well with this and is now fine.
BTW it ate fine during the whole time but would occasional hover at the top too.
Hope this helps and good luck

The lower jaws aren't affected.. interesting. The polli has it, both dels, both senegals and a weeksi. None quite as bad as Polly though.

Think Melafix would help? I cleaned the filters already and did a damn near 100% WC to get rid of the nitrite. Buncha stresscoat too.

Not familiar with Melafix-used product called Myxazin. Says used for fin rot, Ulcers, Sores and bacterial infections. Does contain formaldehyde

How about just letting us know everything you've done from start til now.. So you don't poison them and finish the job for what ever is the problem..

You care about your Bichers .. We know this .. But if you continue to treat for something different every few minutes your going to kill them anyway... Someone has to know or has to have had some experience with this.. give it a minute.. You may lose some.. maybe just letting your water stabilize for a minute so they are not constantly stressed from all the treating your doing will help..

Lift the temp a couple degrees to start.. And wait for an answer.. :) If no one answers and you haven't lost any wait some more.. If you cannot wait then do what you will but without a diagnosis you are shooting in the dark.. And most Meds are suggested for 1-2 weeks to clear up the issue ..
