Went to petsmart today to get a dozen feeders as a treat for my fish when i walked down to a small sale section and saw 2 perfecto undergravel filters there. I figured they would be marked down a few bucks as for a 75-90 gallon kit runs for $40. I looked under the 2 boxes and saw that they were $5.99 each and i went No WAY... Now i just bought a 150 with everything but the undergravel filters so i figured why not and bought them. They also had 2 400 watt heaters on sale for $10 each. I didnt get them because i already have 300 watt heaters so i was good in the department. Just thought i'd share

undergravel filters only cost like $10 where i live cause they are not very good filters but thats a great deal on the heaters

canada doesnt count. They listed for $40 and they make newer ones now and these were the only 2 left

Even free would be a bad deal, my opinion UG filters are junk and cannot believe they are still sold..

yep what he said....I said it in a previous thread to another guy with UGFs...hey buddy the 70s called they want their undergravel filter back

so no one uses them anymore. I think they are great for keeping the stone off the bottom of the tank and i dont use them as a filter really. They are just used as bubblers as i dont like having tubing all over the tank and i think having the bubbles coming up and out of the tube add a lil something to the look of the tank

for undergravel filters to be of any use they have to be cleaned all the time because all they do is hide the waste underneath them and if you leave it too long you can kill off your fish. there also not strong enough to be efficient but I agree, they work great as bubblers
