UGF's are great if you know how to use them. I use one on a 29gallon flowerhorn growout tank side by side a HOB to keep my gravel clean and to trap debris. Every time I do a water change I just uncap one of the ends of my UGF and put my python on the end and all the debris are removed. The waste stays below my gravel bed so my tank stays clean.
