It’s been suggested that the cause of the mutation was the result of a parasitic infection by a trematode worm (Ribeiroia ondatrae). Trematode infections have reportedly been linked to an increasing number of amphibian limb mutations, particularly missing, malformed, and extra hind legs.

Frogs seem to mutate easily as me and several of our friends like to compare any odd (usually odd colored) frogs we've found including:blue,yellow,orange and red,and melanistic bullfrogs.

Yeah right Frank......like you have never seen a frog with eyes inside of it's mouth.
seen 2-headed snakes and turtles and a snake w/ one eye in the middle of it's forehead and snakes missing the entire top part of the head that had to be removed from the egg because they couldn't hatch on their own but never anything like THAT
