Sick microlepis and undecimratius dats

My dats have been sick for a couple of weeks. They are both around 4" and are in a 10 gallon with a millennium 2000 filter. The thin bar had fungus so I treated with pima-fix for 7 days and did a 40% water change. The microlepis was in my 29g but was being bullied my other dat. I notice him flicking his head above his eyes on a river rock so I put him with the other dat. Both were treated at the same time. The microlepis looks fine (actually better) but is still flicking on rocks. The thin bar is constantly flashing, flicking and swimming against the current of the filter. He also has what looks like bumps of tissue or something where his fins connect to the body. This includes bottom, side and tail. Both keep making weird mouth movements. I'm at a complete lost, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those red lesions are "the disease" that's been afflicting dats all over the three online pred. fish boards. Ivan (alfon76) has done epidemiological tests on the affected tissue and determined that it appears to be some sort of bacterial infection, but it doesn't respond to antibiotics for either gram positive or gram negative bacteria. So far, the only "cure" for this malady appears to be adding salt and boosting temperature and allowing the fish to naturally recover via its own improved immune system, as bolstered by salt and heat. I have successfully treated several NGTs and one widebar for "the disease" using this method. Thinbars seem to be the most susceptible to "the disease" and you must act quickly with them. I've recently lost four thinbars to "the disease," because I discovered it too late.

Thanks for the heads up. I added 20 tsp of aquarium salt and will pick up a heater today. What temp should I set and how long do I keep the salt in the tank?

82-83 degrees F should do it. 1-3 tsp/gallon is usually what I do. Leave the salt in the tank until the fish is fully healed. Do water changes as usual during treatment, but remember to replace the salt that you removed by water change.

I'm sure Ivan can fill you in on his extensive research on this matter. I went straight to salt and heat and it worked, but I didn't start getting "the disease" until many others had already tried and failed using other methods. Thus, I benefited from this research.

I did everything recommended and my dats look really pale and the one with "the disease" has white spots all over. Fungus, "the disease", and now ick?!?! AAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH! I even put an air stone to help w/ oxygen. Should I do a water change and up the level of salt?

Sup Homie. You can give them an immunity boost. 2tsp Lake Wilson, 1tsp Ala Wai. That will for sure kill any fungus, disease, or unwanted growths.
