Is melafix a good alternative, just in case my petsmart does not have paraguard

Won’t do much. Other option is to provide clean water and add a little salt @ 1 tsp per g.

I personally would use stress coat and not melafix.

Try aquarium salt, get him eating, and water changes.

Hey guys so just an update; I have picked up another bumblebee catfish to hopefully help out him to get him to eat, however, he still hasn’t touched his food, but the new one will eat all the time...

I’ve tried multiple food sources, bloodworms, brine shrimp, crab/crayfish pellets, sinking carnivore pellets and bottom feeder shrimp flavored pellets... still nothing however the other bumblebee catfish is not a picky eater and eats all day and is also much smaller than him... I fear the end is near, I’ve tried everything that people have recommended in this chat, still nothing
