So the Black P has been rubbin his head on his 'house' for a lil while now, after removing it today and carefully inspecting him I see theres a mass of whiter skin on his forehead.

It was difficult for the camera to read and properly display how it actually looks in real life, so here's my best.
Here's the most accurate representation, but it's really blurry.

Any thoughts? definatley some disease/bacteria/fungus, not immediatley fatal to my knowledge.

I can't see anything in those pics, but flashing (swimming into things like he's itchy) is usually a symptom of some sort sort of irritating organism be it parasite, fungus, or bacteria. I can't see anything in the pic to tell what sort of problem it is. Try and take some better pics or give a detailed explanation of what sort of symptoms the fish is manifesting.

I can't get it to read on the camera worth anything... flashing is the only symtom i've noticed, random drops/increases in appetite, but I believe that to be normal behavior.
The first pic shows the affliction & color properly but is blurry - on the second pic you can see the same area - parallel to the eyeball, before the notch- but the camera flash washes out the white color.
It's hard for me to even tell in real life what this whiteness is.. i can't tell if its dots or of a 'mosslike' consistency or what.. I would bet my money on fungal perhaps?
My searches are turning out nothing.. Is there any common white fungal diseases I might be able to research pictures on to put a better gauge on this?
Thank you so much for your help.

lol, no other fish. he doesn't cohab. the feeders don't last. The patch is recessed a bit, but it affects the same region (expanding slightly outside) that was originally effected by hole in the head. All of it is on the top of the fish, with traces leading to the beginning of the fin. I would say there's a possibility he's a slight bit skinnier, but his eating habits have been normal and his apetite has been up. He's actually been leaving less heads, rarely dead leftovers anymore.

I think he may have scraped his head on some equipment at some time, which is how I imagine this was contracted.

the feeders prob have some parasite. and now he got it! get him off feeders and try frozen silversides. add some salt and bump up temp!

Whats a safe amount for 75gal if the normal dosage is 1 per 10gal to achieve 6.dGh?
I know piranhas are sensitive to salt.

I know piranhas are sensitive to salt.

not table salt, aquarium salt. It should have directions for use on the back.

right, i was referring to my lake Malawi 'African mineral salt' i scooped up at the store.
1 scoop per ten gallons for 6.dGh is what the directions read.
I was wondering how much for the piranha in 75 gallons, because I know too much can be bad for them.
Its a serrasalmus rhombeus or black piranha, just thought id throw that out there.

I'm not sure I would use cichlid salt. I don't know that it would cause any problems, but my understanding is that cichlid salt has buffers in it, and also high mineral content designed to emulate the african rift lakes. I use just good old fashioned regular aquarium salt when my fish have a sick problem. It's like 3 dollars a box at petco.

so any diagnosis we give you will more or less a guess because we can't see the fish, or the fish's behavior. So I found this link where maybe you can find a disease similar to what your guy is experiencing.

let us know how it goes, and good luck.
