some people pump up the temp and then add salt there is a sticky on this sight i have just used the tetra brand ick meds mix that with like a half gallon of water for your tank let the tabs dissolve and add the solution worked in one day al ick was gone.

impossible...
visible ich is only a cyst on the fish's scales...the actual parasite ich..has several stages...

stage one - is the egg stage, where it comes either from on your current fish, or from an outside water source...

stage two - the cysts on your fishes scales...the visible white spots...

stage three - free swimming parasites..

At least this is my understanding of how it works out...but i know its not curable over night...

The best way to treat it that i have found, is use some sort of quickfix like methylblu...or salt.. if you use a product--just read the back for how much to add.. otherwise 2 teaspoons of salt for every gallon of water.. kick the temperature up to 82ish..

The temperature change speeds up the life cycle of the ich parasite, and the salt kills it off in the free swim stage..

You could use a product called "Quick cure", though Ich is fairly easy to treat.

What I do is this, Bump the temperature up to 86 Degrees. This will speed up the parasites life cycle to where its the easiest to kill.

I would recommend salt.. but I'm not sure if that would affect your pleco. Hopefully someone else experienced with plecos can chyme in.
