Didn't eat the second clam last night, first one left a bad impression I think. Scarfed a clam down this morning though just like normal. Went to work, and when I got home did a big 60% water change. Did 2/3 dose of salt and melafix and she's happily buzzing around. The spot before her top fin looks like its starting to show normal colors, her bottom fin still looks all torn up amd destroyed though. Probably take weeks to get that back. Plan on leaving her in the hospital tank til Tuesday evening with another water change Tuesday morning and a big.clean on her big tank before she goes back in. Will totally reacclimate her with a slow drip before she goes back to her regular tank. Catfish will be gone as well.

Not really a need to drip if the waters coming from the same source, unless somehow the temp and or ph is off.. glad all is better, just a
matter of keeping up with wc and ull be good to go in the future! Gl

My tanks are on very strict water change schedules so that's never mixed. I just figured I'd reacclimate because of the salt in her hospital tank and no salt In the big tank.

how is that fish looking?

Wonderful! Shes back in her big tank, 1tbsp of aquarium salt per 10g still. No melafix. Happy as a clam swimming all over checking everything out. Been in there since the night before last. Took the catfish out so its just her and two tetras. She actually bit my finger today while I was cleaning to see if I was tasty or not lol.

Careful your puffer doesnt one day take your finger off...

That would make a great story lol. Happy to hear your little puffer is better! I saw a Abei at my LFS today swimming the same way yours was. It's dorsal was pretty much just a nub, probably from the other 3 in there. I really wanted one but I don't have a big enough tank, grrrrrrr.

I miss my Abei. He woulda been good in a 30g, mine loved his.

As for loosing my finger, I was thinking about that. Hope she learns my hand is not food, its only been two weeks since she was caught in the wild from my understanding so doubt shes used to me yet.

aquarium salt does not have an official definition and can be different types of salts depending on brand and shipment. That salt treatment is suppose to be table salt. 1tbsp per 10g

but glad to hear that he is doing better! = D

Whew!!! Al because of a stinking catfish.

Okay, in that case, then hopefully he/she will learn in time that you are the bearer of food, and not food yourself...
