+1, hold by the tail, head up, face underwater & shake back & forth. It may puff with water, but that's good, then when it expels the water the air will come out with it.

Once my room got completely dark she started swimming again. Had been laying on the bottom the rest of the day, stressed from all my poking and handling. Since she was swimming just now when I got back from the store figured Id give it another shot. She was at the top of the tank, swimming kinda goofy, since Im sure her balance is off. Got a little more agressive as suggested, first time barely puffed, let her deflate them swim away. Did that 3 more times with bigger puffs. Though I saw a very tiny tiny bubble come out but could have come off my hand. Shes at the bottom now fluttering around, but still tail goes up a bit. Shes trying to right herself, then it bounces back up and face down. Give it another go in 30-40 minutes.

I don't wonder if it isn't some sort of systemic bacterial thing, affecting the swim bladder?

Thatd be bad. Never been into that sort of situation. Is there any helping it?

All i can say is good luck... hopefully you'll be able to sort out your puffer...

I doubt its bacterial, if you are very concerned about it feed some metro the the clams

If you wanna look through the rest of my posts, youll see Im well informed on puffers, and what they need, and have quite a bit of experience. Thanks for your concern, but I promise you this fish is in a big enough tank. Its 3.5in long, and looks like its swimming in the ocean. Lets keep the tank size battles out of here so I can get this baby healthy again.

This morning she isnt as bad. Still not buzzing the tank like usual, but not straight up and down like she was at her worst yesterday, or floating motionless at the top of the tank. Still hasnt eaten in two days though.
