Signs of disease

After reading the cichlid eBook, i found that my fish could be sick.

Sick fish will almost always display at least one of these symptoms:

Clamped Fins - fins that are held very close to the body and
not spread out

Head standing - Fish swims with its head down.

Tail Standing - Fish swims with its tail down.

Lethargy - Fish seems to be tired and stays put in one
corner of the aquarium.

Listing - Leaning on to one side or the other.

Scales pointing out - The scales of the fish stick out, almost
like on a pine cone.

Red sores on the body.
White sores and/or spots, or thread like marks on the body.

My baby red terror is always laying in one corner of the aquarium with fins clamped, when when i approach the tank, it spreads out fins and swim to the water surface for food. After feeding, it lays back to the corner. Is this red terror behavior or is it "Lethargy"?

Quote: "Ick is a disease that causes your fish to get small, grain-like spots on their body. Ick is
also known as White Spot Disease or Ich. The fish may try to rub itself against the décor
or the hard surfaces in the aquarium, giving an impression of scratching an itch.
The salt should be added gradually, slowly building upto5-8 tsp per gallon / 4L. Different fish
have different tolerance level for salt. In the case of more sensitive fish, it is better to
keep the level at 5 tsp. per gallon / 4L."

My fish does that every day. If i add too much salt, will they die?

If he's got what looks like salt sprinkled on it then it's probably ich. Don't add salt or meds until you know what you're dealing with. Is the fish wild caught or tank bred? How long have you had him and is the tank cycled?

Everytime when water is dirty, white spot appears, and fishes often scratching against substrate. Bought from petstore not wild or bred.
