silent

Go with an Aqua Clear 30, that would do the trick. I have one and you cant ever hear it run.

If, you foresee that your 29g is the largest tank you'll plan to own the choices that have been listed are good ones. If, on the other hand you feel you may want to go from the 29g to a larger tank without keeping the 29, then you might want to consider buying a larger filter. Check the price points and if a much larger filter isn't significantly more expensive, it may be a better purchase. Almost all filters can be throttled back to decrease flow rates and still provide you with the extended filter capacity of the larger size thus requiring less maintenance. Dan

I would over-filter. Go with something like an AC50. Mine are very quiet.

Looking for a filter for my 29 gall freshwater tank, that is as silent as can be with out sacrificing quality.

Any suggestions?

Maybe she does'nt need a filter people....I'd say go with a plant setup and work from there....A filter is'nt really needed....Just stick in an internal filter and your done....
