Right now I'm waiting for my lfs to get in some caribsea samples. I'm 80% sure I'm going with crystal river from the super natural line.

i doubt the guy who lost his fire eels and poly where due to the type of sand. come on!

Woman and How would you explaine fish bleeding from their gills and literally Vomitting up their gill tissue less then 24 hours after the sand was put in?... prior to the sand my water was spot on.. and afterward it was spot on.... no other varriables during the 48 hours it took to lose my fish.. I di have 2 florida gar survive the event.. and I'm not saying ALL pool filter sand is unsafe.. But I would be very leary of it. I buy quarry stone in bulk form my LFS at a fine grade that is almost sand-like and have had no isses what-so ever with it and a 50lb bag costs me 20$

hummmm, that's odd i did a change from gravel to sand and didn't loose a thing had 13 clowns, a 12 inch fire eel, BGK, some angles and a tiger datnoid. Did you rinse the sand, use a bucket brought down to the bottom of the tank ? I didn't get my ray till after we changed to sand so i cant say shes been though a change. Mabye it a step that was missed.
