Is GE II stronger then I?

Neither. Go back and read Dr. Joe's post.

GE I & II are the same with the exception of fungicide added to GE II (not good if you like fish in your tanks). Both are a weaker and cheaper product aimed at small jobs that the consumer would be involved with.

Awesome I have the construction 1200 sealant, im using it for my 6x2x2 im making thanks to Dr. Joe's post im now a little less worried about the thing falling apart do too my sloppy silicone work.

i just used this same silicone on my 240 to reseal and to fix a crack in it last week i used 3 tubes of the same ge 1 door and window in the blue tube as shown in you'r picture and a couple of aquirium silicone from petsolutions.com got sick of waiting for that so i went out and bought the ge 1 at lowes and then the next day the aquirium silicone came go figure any ways both of them spread exactly the same and both when dried are exactly the same can't tell were i used what and were i used what vise versa same texture to them same color neither is harder or more strechable in my opinion at all. the only difference in the tubes was the actual aquarium stuff the long piece were the silicone comes out screwed off so you could cut a hole in it and the ge diddn't you have to cut the tip and then slide something long and then down in it and punture a hole besides that one just cost 3-4 times as much i would just use the ge if i was you the same exact tubes as you posted a picture of in the blue tube. You can see pics of what i did to my tank in the diy section under ----- just fixed my 240 silicone is drying right now check out the pics -------- any ways here you go and good luck with you'r prodject.

Sincerely

CHOMPERS...You can still get GE II without the BioSeal

GE I has low shrinkage

GE II has no shrinkage

I've never noticed a difference when doing tanks, on some other projects (not fish related) I did notice this as a problem.

so dr. do u recommend GE I or II it seems II would be the way to go cuz it seems it has a little bit better quality then GE I

Okay, GE I up to 55g or GE II up to 80g, GE 1200 over that. (that's not to say GE I or II won't work on 150g tanks tho).

Make sure that all surfaces are prepped, clean & free of foreign matter (oils and old silicone) Clean with a solvent that leaves no residue (M.E.K., Acetone, Alcohol in that order) Wear gloves for this as it's not good for you. And do all this work in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight, low humidity and temp. per manufacturers rec.s.

And remember if you don't feel safe in repairing a tank oyu can send them freight prepaid to " Dr Joe's Home for Wayward, Misbegotten and Unwanted Aquaria", a Non-Profit Organization (just ask my DW). All sizes accepted, we do not judge nor discriminate here @ DJHWMUA.

im making a tank thats 78"x24x18 its not big its just long also about that GE 1200 stuff you cant buy that in the store can you? dont you have to order it of the net?

I was actuly in homedepot before work today and i saw the 1200 as i walked by, the all glass is the same as ge I, and i thought that the GE II had the bioseal and thats the only way it comes.... either one sounds good, i will probably use the RTV suff as i can just swipe it here from work.(we carry all types of stuff) but fot the money maybe it might be a good idea to go it the good docter and get the 1200...

you saw the GE 1200 in home depot??? cuz if u did then all my worries are gone and ill get that lol did u happen to see a price? what about that GE RTV108 stuff can you buy that in stores?
