i picked up this ge 100% silicone single package. don't know if anyone else has seen these but was wondering if they're safe. there is no mention of the antimold/mildew ingrediant but i don't want to risk it. also what would be a way to test it safely

thanks

its a 1.25oz tinfoil package. i was hoping to not waste an entire tube as i just wanted to mount some plants to rocks and maybe some small projects. also it was pretty cheap and i didn't have to buy the caulking gun.

You could always sticka nail or something in the end of the tube to preserve it till next time.

Don't know about the singles.

i know when i sealed my tank i could not find aquarium sealer in a hurry i used one at the hardware store that said food grade

Does it have a BioSeal label on it? (that's GE trademark for their mold suppressant.

If your using it in small quantities, and don't have sensitive fish (ie discus), let is cure for a week then wash / soak in hot (not hot enough to damage plastic plants) and air dry again. You then should be good to go.

That's ridiculous, bite size silicon.

What do you mean by wasting a tube. When I use a tube I just leave it open when I'm done. The exposed part hardens and protects the rest. I just pull it of and use the rest. It preserves itself.

I've got a 6" plug that cured when I left one open once. Kinda neat, but expensive (I used it for feet to make remove vibration from a motor :D).
