I think what he meant was he cut the cured 6"'s of sylicone removed the tube and cut them into discs. then used the discs as dampers to dampen the vibration of the noisy motor
i'll try the just letting it set. i really just don't need a full tube of silicone right now and i have had other caulk set on me and waste the whole thing. not to mention i think it could be kinda handy to just use here and there.
on the 10oz tubes.. the lil piece you cut off... save it and shove it in the hole when yer done.. stuff lasts forever unless you store the tube in the sun/highheat
