I just tried to re-silicone my 125. It sucked. I've never been so frustrated, stucky, and pissed. It is UGLY, how am I supposed to get a nice looking seam? I think I'm going to let it dry, razor it out, and try again. There are obvious finger swipes, I get mad just looking at it! -JD

Tape the edges so you get a straight line. Put a small bead inbetween the tape. Spread the bead out, letting the excess flow onto the tape, then remove the tape while the silicone is wet.

you can put tape on both sides of seam(inside) and you smooth it out with something that doesnt stick(i think something smooth an wet doesnt stick)
then u just peel off tape before it dries and there u go, nice clean seams

I did use tape, but I think I left too much room between the corners and the tape. How much space should there be?

I usually leave 1/8"- 3/16" between the tape and the corner.

There is a small device sold at the home improvement places for this...Tape off the joints as youve been told then take this piece of formed nylon with several differant curves to choose from and then use it to follow the bead of silicone... It takes a short time to get the knack of it but once you have it down it goes quickly and will give you a very professional finish.

i use a wider tape , so that when the excess builds up it doesnt flow over the tape and back on to the glass. for smoothing the seam i use one of those bead smoother things for making clean beads with caulk.

preparation for application is the key. once you start applying the sili. work fast, and do not try to fix something that isnt perfect if the sili. has begun to tack up at all, trust me i know lol. peel that tape off as soon as you are done. dont try to jam the sili. into the corners, just run your fingers from one corner to the other with light pressure and then begin the next corner.

I completely forgot about that tool, I've used one before too for a bathtub, ha ha I can't believe it. I also think taping it off 3/4" from the corner was a bad idea too... I wont make that mistake again. Thanks guys!
