Cut the silicone tube tip at an angle it helps make a better bead.I wear rubber gloves and use my finger to smooth the bead

So I bought the tool "caulking smoother" and trimmed it the proper size; worked but a wet rubber glove finger worked WAY better. I taped it off, 1/4" from the corners... I hope it holds water... if it does leak, should I just put more silicone over top or cut out the leaky section and patch. Or redo the entire tank? Thanks, -JD
