is this the right stuff? in the past I've used ge 2 windows and doors and have never had any problems. when I set up a 55 a couple of months ago it sprung a leak. I sealed it with ge2 like I always have, now everything that goes into that tank dies within 24 hours, ammonia is 0. after reading online, i see that you used to be able to get ge2 without the mold inhibitors, but now it's in all ge2. either way, my tank has to be resealed. did I buy the right stuff or do I need to go back?

Ge1 is the stuff you want. Even better would be ge SCS 1200

As long as it's 100% silicone your all good. The mold inhibitors they put into some of them are what's bad for the fish.

There are many silicone's sold by GE. Some are listed as GE 1. Others as GE II. Some as neither.

This one you listed (which seems to be sku M90016-30) is neither in my product list. It's classified as GE Supreme Silicone.

The only GE silicones that people seem to find to be routinely safe are GE 1 products. Examples of GE 1 sku's are:

GE712
GE360
GE012A
GE112A
GE312A
GE412A
M6001
M6002

anything that is 100% silicone and doesnt have mould resistance should be ok. myself selleys glass silicone it says on it for windows and aquaruims
