Silver and Oscar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I am having the same problem. I picked up a silver arow last week , he's about 5 inches. I put him in the tank with my oscar and the oscar is doing the same thing. The problem, is when I feed them the oscar will attack the silver if he gets too close to the food.So therefore the silver isn't getting what he should. I quess I should have gotten a jardini. I like my oscar a lot but he's pissing me off, If he continues he is going to be dropped in the piranha tank and see how he likes getting picked on.LOL!

You don't mean that in litteral terms do you? I mean a Oscars an oscar their just territorial fish thats their nature.... what can you do? :wall:

Just an update. After about 4 days, the Oscar and Loisellei i have in with the Silver treat him like part of the driftwood now.

They dont seem to care much that he's there anymore. During feeding there is no aggression and he can swim from one end of the tank to the other without being hassled.
:)
I'm relieved they are all getting along great.
He's eating too.

He got a few missing scales the first few days, but thats it.

Dovii Dude: I could never replace my O. I've had him for 3 years now. And besides, what would getting a smaller one accomplish? It would just grow up to a foot in a year anyways. :)

Thanks all

good to hear its workin out for you. I've tried that once. Thought it was just initial signs of territory establishment. Then the next morning, i find my arowana ripped in half, with the tail half missing, lots of droppings on the gravel, and a full oscar =(

never again
