Sedating the aro is easy and actually very safe. The main reason behind sedating is to keep them calm. Its prolly not the right thing to do in this case if all he wants to do is clean tank. If my asian is getting in a bag for a trip he is getting sedated. They can undo years of hard work by wrecking themselves during transportation. Even still sedated aros rub off a barbel or two during transport.

Thats what I meant. Unless you're doing long term transporting, or shipping even, and doing surgical operations, there is no need to put your aro in danger with sedatives. Always use it as a last resort.

i do not think if you to sedate ur aro even u have to remove or transport, i would sedate the aro only if i have to do some surgical or make him new tatoos LOL
how deep of cleaning tank you wanted to performed?
i would just leave the aro in the tank and be gentle and respect doing it.

With that big of aro in that size tank, looks to me that the arowana will launch once you arms go into the tank. Better off to leave the tank dirty.
