Silver aro advise from long term owners please?

If it still hasnt eaten try live crickets from the pet store, ive never seen an aro turn down crickets. At the lfs I work at we use crickets to get fussy aros eating then go to pellets

Small update, the wife fed the fish tonight and apparently he went at a hand full of pellets like a great white shark, then sulked and ignored the rest. So we are getting somewhere and he is hungry.
 
He ate some???

Apparently so, I will witness the feeding this evening and report back.
 
All this debate on natural foods leaves out the fact that in the wild Osteoglossum sp. Prey heavily on insects..
Yannbrox, try feeding a cricket or similar once in a while as a treat. Healthy for your aro, fun to watch and useful to prevent DE.

Noted, but I'll get him hooked on pellets for a few weeks at least before any treats ;-)

It's confirmed I've just fed him myself and he was straight to the open lid under my hand, as soon they hit the water he ate them. He does ignore anything he missed in his first try though but he's eating them.
 
Well done! Problem solved! Don't feed it heavily nor everyday.

A poker chip size hand full daily is the plan, nothing else nothing more. Thanks for the advise.
