Silver Aro and Flagtail, good combo?

Should work. In fact, T1KARMANN had a BIG Flagtail with his Aros, Dats, and Rays, and didn't seem to have problems from anyone.

Until the Aros started pairing up like a mating pair or something.

Flagtails will suck the slim coat off your rays and possibly your aro's . I had two BIG fei fengs and they both turned to slim suckers

2/14 of my flagtails were not slimecoat suckers but they were scared of my arowana haha

This is the third time i've used the flagtail and aro combo, never have i seen the flagtail dare peck at the aro. My green aro usually snaps at the flagtail if it gets too close for too long....
