silver aro and giant gourami

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have my 12" silver with my 10" RTGG no problems, though the gorami can be a bit bossy sometimes.

I've seen Koji do it and Zennzo has a Giant in with 3 silvers with no problem, the fish was in grow out for 6 months first, I'd love to try it with mine when I get a bigger tank

i dont have GG but they are agressive i have a RTGG with my aro its fine

If anyones says they are fine...

Dont listen...

A little while ago.. there was an MFKer there who had a giant Arowana at 20" who lost both of his eyes due to an aggression from a Giant Gourami..

GG ARE aggressive.. and no matter what people say how it will be okie.. in the adult hood, GG are not suitable.

Do a search on MFK and find Giant Gourami and Arowana..

if it was a jardini maybe more possible it would be fighting

are they compatible assuming they are of similar size?

how big is your silver?

i had a jardinii, double the size of a gg , jar started attacking it for a couple of days, then peace
and whent he gg got settled in, bad.... jar tail was looking like a 70s afro

the thing is, this is the questoin
silvers are cheap..... but rearing it to largeness is hard. wanna waste that?>
asian aros and black aros are more expensive, i dont think its worth it
if you have a 4 or 5 thousand litre tank, maybe lol
but generally iw ould say no

just introduced the GG on my tank...seems like the silver aro bullies my GG..

I think it could go either way here. But I will agree that the GGs that I have seen are aggressive.
