Thanks for the replies all. I appreciate it. I bought 10 rosies and out them in there...all gone by this morning. And he ate 3 crickets the am as well...hes doing well now. I went into panic mode since hes expensive lol. Trying my hand at a silver, hopefully leading to higher breeds.

Good to hear he's eating! I had a similar problem with my silver. It took a while, but now he comes to the same part of the tank every night when I come home because he knows he's going to get fed. I haven't had luck getting him back on pellets, but I do have him on raw shrimp. I buy the bag from Costco and it lasts me a long time (especially since ALL my fish will eat it). I also stuff each piece of shrimp I feed him with 3-4 floating carnivore sticks, just to make sure he's got some color enhancers in there.

U just got the fish

1. Dont turn ur lights on for a week or so

2. Lower ur water level from top of tank to like 4inches or so to keep it calm. Also put something floating on top of water which i heard it keeps it calm also

3. Try to pellet train it

well the lower water level is a good thought. i keep it up since the water noise gets to me after a while lol. I have put some pellets in there and they disapear so i assume hes eating them. i havnt actually witnessed it though, so i havnt a clue what to make of it. he goes for crickets like crazy even with me standing there. must have something to do with the scent or even movement of the crickets. oh well...

I have one and he loves pellets, and my fingers... I've been bitten a few time before when he thought he was getting fed.

getting nipped always catches me off guard. Last night i did find that if i put pellets in the tank and play with them to make them move in the water a bit, he'll start to come up and get them. He seems to ignore them if there sitting still...something im going to have to work on.
