shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
how long can a silver aro be kept in a 90 gal? does it need a bigger tank because of its size or because it will make too much of a mess in the water? they seem like really flexible fish that can turn earily in small spaces

what size is the arow now? i'd say you need a bigger tank for the size of the arow.

well i dont have one, but i have a 90 gal and i was just wondering if i decide to get one how long id be able to keep it for before upgrading. id get one about 5-7 inches

Depends on the tank dimens?

I would say you can keep one in there under 7".
Then off to a new tank. Aros are flexible but need a large amount of water to grow or you might stun him. I would just pass on it and get a biger set up so you dont have to give up a fish that you would grow on.JMO

you could always get it and then look into getting a bigger tank set up for it like right away.

Your tank would be good for about 6 months at the most then you'll need a BIG tank. Some say 180g minimum (6x2x2) but I'm sure the fish would prefer a 300g or larger (8x3x2).

well my tank is 48" long, 24" tall, and 18" wide. are black aros smaller? i saw someone with an 18" aro in a 55 gal and his looked pretty healthy(no drop-eye, gill curl, good appetite, and no discoloration or damages)

Did you know if it was there temp? Maybe his big tank had probls or he was moving? There could have been a number of reasons Y. Dont jump off the roof cause someone else did.
You can not house an Aro in a tank that small period:grinno:. He will try to jump out even more than they already do.
Just stick to a fish that you can house for life in a 55gl or get a bigger tank. Then you can consider a larger fish... and for Aro it needs a min of 8x2x2 (and Ill still probly get "No's" on these dimens).

You got a No from me little buddy

this guy grew it from young and i know because he posted the whole setup on craigslist and i went to see it and he had no other tanks. how long would it be ok in a tank of my dimensions? i dont think i will actually get one unless at some point in the future i can afford a bigger tank, but its just such a beautiful fish
