Hey guys I noticed some red streaking down one side of my 15” aro. They almost look like red stretch marks. He was nearly flawless up until a few days ago now he has some dark spots on some scales which I think may be missing scales. He does jump a lot at night. Maby scratches from the 3D background? I keep the water level low but he still hits the top once in a while. Let me know what you think. No new additions to the tank or changes to the set up.
thanks in advance

The Gar may be causing the Silver Aro to jump at night.

The gar is very lazy, always on the bottom. I’ve seen and heard the aro jump for no apparent reason. I was wondering if the red marks and dark spots were from the aro hitting something or is it a condition I need to address. I just bought a 300 gallon tank the other day and planning on moving them from their 125 in a few weeks hoping the extra room may change behavior a bit. I’m hoping the marks will heal on their own

Great to hear about you having the 300 gallon . The marks will heal with pristine water conditions.
