I have read about this how the arowanas swam around with the tail down, My silver is 4", Every post I have read about when a arowana swims with its tail down ends in death, I was wondering if anyone has actually saved their arowana from death, I really need to know my arowana is swimming kinda drunk like and tail down, and hes swimming really slow, unlike normal, I was wondering if anyone has saved their arowana, I really want to save him he doesnt want to die. His colors are beautiful and hes only 4" if I lose him I will never buy another fish.

Do you have any idea what could have caused this?

How are the water parameters? Any signs of infection? When was the last time he ate?

It's a tough call based on one symptom, but when I bought my silver from the lfs he was in a little rough shape. I just kept water quality as high as I could and got him on a good diet.

Honestly if you don;t have any specific idea of what illness it has, then a water change should be done. I think fresh clean water would help any fish rather than hinder it from healing.

If its still eating it should be fine, just make sure you have it in a big enough enclosure as well. Give it some floating plants too. My aro was like night and day without floating plants so I recently tied a big piece of driftwood to a eggcrate diffuser and hung it from the top to give it some more abstract swimming area. I mean swimming in a big glass box has to be frightening for a little aro.

some times that swimming position is a sign of stres...change the water, diminish the light and give it some place to take cover...

i was under the impression that tail out or tail slightly down was a sign of good health in a silver and that tail up with an arched back was bad. i could be wrong.

min has an arched back some times but thats when its full, whats the temp? Also hope it makes it.

sorry didnt see those posts. the temp is 82 its fine I had this little guy for over 2 months now, water params, amonnia is a little high nitrate is fine nitrite is 0, ph is fine, I dont know what could cause this, hes not eating, I tried giving him some krill, everything blood worms, he cant swim for himself, the current is pretty much what is making him move, and the current is really low. I dont know what could have possibly did this.

Actually just tested the ammonia the ammonia is fine also. I added some salt, and some disease stuff, his stomach looks a little bloated for how little he has eaten the past few days.
