After my last near-death experience, I didn't feel like eating for days either...

He'll make a good recovery with great water and a bit of heat...the bloody eyes will clear soon too...maybe pull some of his tankmates if you got the room for them in your other tanks, and dim the lights a bit...good luck and great save.

Happy to report Chump started eating over the weekend. He's looking and acting just fine. Still some minor scrapes to heal up. Prognosis excellent ;D

Glad to hear!

I haven't seen anyone say anything about salting the tank. In my experience it helps with injuries like this, and it'll restore some of his energy.

May have gone unsaid because it's a pretty common way to deal with such problems, but thought I'd suggest it just incase.

Anyways, he looks great!

Looks like he did a lot of damage to that filter along with himself. Good to hear that he is recovering.

congratulations, i was rooting for him. Just remember to weigh the top of the tank from now on ;)

I normally salt at 1 tbsn/10 gal. I upped it to 1 tbsn/5 gal after his leap. Changed water today and only added 1/2 the salt I usually do, so it should be back at normal rate. I had the heat up to 84 -86 for the last 1 1/2 weeks as well. That's back to 80-82 today.

Thanks for all the suggestions and moral support all. You folks are great!!

Dave
