R.I.P my old silver jumped before but I was there when it happened so I was able to put it back in its tank in a timely manner. Sorry for your loss, hopefully you don't lose any sleep over it.

To OP, I'm sorry for your loss.

Wow seems to be alot of this happening lately. Sorry for the loss, but why was the 2" hole left uncovered?

It could be from the weather is getting hot. Arowana is more active when temperature goes up. My silver in the 600gal have been pushing lids the past few days.
