  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi All,

I am facing the similar thing but its not stress of water change for me. I have 2 4" silver arowana babies which i got 15 days ago. I have noticed that every morning when i turn on the lights their fin color is black and after 15-30 mins it changes back to normal. I am attaching a pic i took few mins back. Please let me know what can be done for this or is it Normal.View attachment 725949

Hi Ajay.. you could pm sheajared and ask what happened.. but there have been some comments from other users regarding the situation..though i have never come across this with any of my aros.. give some more details.. tank size.. lighting.. duration of lighting water temp.. water parameters.. filtration.. i hope you have a spare tank.. cos you can def expect the lil ones to have a go at each other soon..

This is normal and I think it's pretty cool. I have a 12" silver and at night it's pectoral fins also turn black. In the morning they turn clear again. Maybe its a sign of body temperature change.

most of my silvers do this in the dark when smaller. i have heard it is due to stress and sleeping. if they do it in the day they are stressed. at night sleeping. it is more prevalent in younger aros (less then 10") but i have seen a 18" aro do it. it should go away after it gets bigger or the stress goes away.
