Mature silvers all pretty much look as you've described, lots of intense light will give a more silvery look. As for coloration, still have yet to see a 24" plus silver with a predominate amount of pink in the tail/fins. The "nice" silver pics you linked looks to be about 18 to 20".

Below are pics of the same aros, note the difference in look. This is due to different lighting conditions. The aros are both 24 plus inches. Have been raised on shrimp, krill and misc food sticks and pellets.

drop eye seems to be a normal occurence on silvers, not as much on black aros?

so it sweems that the pink will diminish in time but lighting will bring out the silver and the pinks and blues.....
and good diet im sure. most people i know here feed beef heart.
i pr3efer shelled prawns stufed with massive delite for my aros.

just checking it out, see black arowanas in nz are rare, very rare in fact, it hasnt entered the countries borders for more than 5 years i think.
